Understand the theoretical foundations and evolving approaches involved in identifying, assessing, and managing occupational risks in order to ensure healthy work environments for both employees and individuals associated with the organization (stakeholders).
Identify risk factors that may result in health problems and/or accidents in the workplace.
Assess occupational risks by determining their probability and severity in order to develop strategies to reduce and mitigate them.
Demonstrate a command of national and international regulations and standards governing Occupational Health and Safety and ensure organizational compliance.
Conduct research to identify and address specific occupational health and safety risks within the workplace.
Analyze epidemiological data and trends to improve workplace practices.
Analyze data and information systems that contribute to monitoring, evaluating, and improving occupational health and safety practices.
Design communication and training initiatives focused on safe workplace practices to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Implement organizational policies that promote safe, equitable, fair, and decent work.
